I Didn’t Just Learn This. I Had to Live It.

I’ve lived the cycle of lack, emotional pain, inconsistency, and making promises to myself only to fall back again. God opened my eyes to the generational patterns, and I made a decision: it stops in my bloodline. Now I mentor others who feel called to do the same.

When God Opened my Eyes - My Calling and Turning Point

In 2020, I had a moment that I’ll never forget, not because everything suddenly got easy, but because everything finally became clear.

Looking back, it was the same patterns… over and over again. Patterns I could recognize in my great-grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, my aunts. It was like we were stuck in repetition, stuck in a cycle that kept wearing a different outfit, but always brought the same outcome.

And then I saw it in me.

I would rise in my career. Getting promoted, reaching new levels only to lose it all. I made six figures… and still had sparse savings. I’d start businesses and then stop. I’d settle, give up, isolate myself in pain and anger. I’d cry out, why me? when deep down I knew something wasn’t adding up.

Because the truth was: it wasn’t just “life happening.”
It was patterns happening.

And I had to face the hardest part: I had my own cycles too. I had to reckon with the ways I was responding, the ways I was coping, the ways I was repeating what I didn’t even realize had been normalized.

As a mother, I had to confront anger and rage. I had to confront the moments where love and compassion felt hard to access because I didn’t grow up feeling it consistently myself. In my family, war was common. Emotional survival was normal. Pain was familiar.

But here’s what shifted everything for me: I realized things weren’t happening to me… they were happening for me because I had to wake up. I had to tell the truth. I had to name the patterns. I had to get honest.

And yes, it hurt like crazy.

But I believe God knew exactly what He was doing when this all started. Because this has been a journey of breaking what’s been passed down, healing what I didn’t ask for, and building a new standard on purpose.

And if you’re reading this thinking, “That’s me… I’ve been living the same cycle,” I want you to know: you’re not here by accident and everything is done on purpose.

What I Believe About Breaking Generational Patterns

Breaking generational patterns isn’t a moment. It’s not a speech you give yourself at midnight. It’s not a one-time prayer and suddenly everything disappears.

It’s a process. A build.

It’s learning how to tell the truth but without shame. It’s recognizing what’s been normalized. It’s seeing what triggers you, what pulls you back, and what keeps repeating… and then choosing a new response on purpose.

And yes, it’s spiritual but it’s also practical. Because you can love God and still need structure. You can be called and still need tools. You can want change with your whole heart and still need accountability for your follow-through.

This is why I mentor the way I do: with compassion, with truth, and with a real path you can walk out. Not perfection but progress. Not performance but with stewardship. Not “trying harder” building a new standard that lasts.

And I want you to hear me clearly: this space is faith-led, and everyone is welcome. If you’re ready to do the work and you’re serious about change, you belong here.

How I Mentor: The CAMIEL Framework

I’m not here to hype you up and send you back into the same cycle with good intentions. I mentor with a framework because when life gets hard, you need something you can come back to.

And I need you to know this up front: this isn’t theory for me. I didn’t read this in a book and turn it into a cute method. I lived it. The blood, sweat, tears, disappointments, and the hard truth-telling it took to even stand in this space, this is real life.

That’s why I can look you in the eyes (even through a screen) and tell you there is hope. You can break generational patterns. You can build a new standard. And you can free your bloodline from strongholds that have been perpetuated for generations.

This is the framework I use to mentor you through that process:

C -  Clarify the pattern

We name what keeps repeating. Clearly so you’re not guessing, avoiding, or staying stuck in confusion.

A -  Assess the Roots

We go beneath the surface to what’s driving the cycle. Identifying triggers, beliefs, wounds, and the inner script that keeps pulling you back.

M - Mindset Renewal

We renew the way you think. You will stop operating from survival, lack, and fear and start moving with clarity and intention.

I -  Implement Stewardship Tools

We put practical tools in your hands. And you actually use them. yYour growth becomes consistent and sustainable in real life.

E -  Establish boundaries & Emotional Control

We strengthen how you respond, what you tolerate, and what you allow. You stop spiraling, stop reacting from pain, and protect the new standard you’re building.

L -  Lead a legacy life

We turn your growth into a new generational standard. Identify your purpose, learn how to steward your blessings, build healthier relationships, and make kingdom impact. Your life becomes proof that the cycle can be broken.

This is how we move from “I want change” to a life that actually looks changed.

What Others Have Said

I don’t take it lightly when someone trusts me with their goals, their vision, or a season of transition. Here are a few words from people I’ve mentored:

“Camiel is an amazing coach for launching your nonprofit business. Her knowledgeable, motivating, and thoughtful guidance helped me gain new confidence and clarity in just one month. I wouldn’t have set up my nonprofit business without her clear direction. I highly recommend her!”

“Working with Camiel has been one of the best decisions for my business. She guided me through converting my sole proprietorship to an LLC in just a couple of days and continues to help me set goals, develop a formal business plan, and strengthen my financial strategy. Her caring and practical approach has boosted my confidence. I strongly recommend her to anyone seeking solid business guidance.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Camiel as my SCORE mentor. Her vast knowledge and resourcefulness made navigating nonprofit bylaws and documentation clear and manageable. Her constructive, encouraging feedback and unwavering dedication to my success were invaluable. I highly recommend Camiel to anyone seeking a professional and caring mentor.”

These testimonials are from my work as a volunteer mentor.

The Experience Behind the Mentoring (and Why It Matters)

I want you to know who you’re trusting because this isn’t advice from the sidelines. This is lived experience. Hard-earned. Daily.

I’ve spent 20+ years climbing, building, and leading in business—growing through real pressure, real responsibility, and real seasons where I had to keep showing up even when I didn’t feel like it. Business, operations, procurement, and strategy I’ve lived in rooms where results matter and follow-through isn’t optional.

But here’s the part that matters most: I didn’t just have to learn how to succeed on paper. I had to learn how to succeed in life when old patterns were trying to pull me back.

Because you can be promoted and still feel broken.
You can make money and still not steward it well.
You can look “successful” and still be fighting cycles of lack, anger, fear, and starting over.

That’s why my mentoring isn’t just about achievement. It’s about becoming. Becoming the person who doesn’t settle. Becoming the person who follows through. Becoming the one who stops the pattern and builds the legacy.

Here’s more of what I bring into this work:

→ 20+ years in business, operations, procurement, and strategy (real-world experience, not theory)
→ Business owner:  I run a small outdoor gear business, so I understand building from the ground up, staying consistent, and learning through real execution
→ Author:  I wrote Build Like An Ant: The Power of Discipline For Personal and Professional Growth (available on Amazon)
→ Mentor experience: I’ve mentored entrepreneurs and nonprofit founders (including as a volunteer mentor), helping them gain clarity, structure, and real follow-through

And let me say this to the person who feels mentally tired just reading this:

Breaking generational patterns is a hard-fought battle. It’s not one decision. It's a decision you make again and again. Some days you’re going to feel strong, and some days you’re going to feel worn out. Some days you’ll want to give up.

But this is bigger than you.

And if God put that “it ends with me” in your spirit, it means you’re not disqualified but you’re being invited. You can overcome the burden. You can outgrow the pattern. You can build a new standard. And you can become who you were always meant to be.

If You’ve Made It This Far…

If you’ve made it this far, I don’t believe that’s random. Something in you recognizes the pattern and more than that, something in you is tired of carrying it.

I’m not here because I have a perfect story. I’m here because I had to face mine. I had to get honest. I had to do the hard work. And I’m still doing the work because breaking generational patterns is a process and a build.

But I can tell you this with confidence: change is possible. A new standard is possible. And you don’t have to keep living the same year on repeat.

So here’s what I want you to do next. Choose your starting point:

And whichever path you choose, know this: you’re not choosing a program. You’re choosing a new direction. You’re choosing stewardship. You’re choosing legacy. You’re choosing to become the one who breaks what’s been repeating.
